"We associëren Eindhoven nog steeds met lampenfabrikant Philips. Maar de stad is in de eerste plaats een echt walhalla voor liefhebbers van design.Van bij mij thuis tot in Eindhoven ligt welgeteld 55 kilometer. Dat wil zeggen dat mits een beetje geluk op de weg ik op minder dan een uur in het midden van de stad kan staan. En toch was het afgelopen week de allereerste keer (een paar ritjes naar de luchthaven of de IKEA achterwege gelaten) dat ik kennis ging maken met de stad die voor een groot stuk in het teken staat van design. Om zoveel mogelijk uit mijn trip te halen combineerde ik Eindhoven met het charmante ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Da's de hoofdstad van Noord-Brabant en ligt slechts op een dik kwartier sporen."
